The
Terrace
A Special Care Floor
As the caregiver for someone with a memory
disorder, you worry about your loved ones’ personal safety,
specialized care and quality of life. It can seem overwhelming
at times. We want you to be reassured that The Terrace at
Rhoda Goldman Plaza is there to help.
At The Terrace, we are committed to helping
residents with memory disorders related to Alzheimer’s disease and
other forms of dementia to achieve all they can every day. Our
nursing staff works with residents and their family members to
provide therapeutic activities that are both physically and mentally
stimulating. Our self-contained special care unit affords
residents their privacy as well as the companionship of
others. Above all, we treat each resident with compassion and
understanding; always in a manner that preserves their dignity and
self-respect.
Like the other residents at Rhoda Goldman Plaza, The Terrace
residents enjoy the kind of living spaces you would expect in a warm
and inviting home; a charming dining room, cozy community living
room, and a pleasing sunroom. The Terrace is unique in the fact that
each resident has his or her own bedroom with private and
semi-private bathrooms, affording the residents the ability to have
privacy, at the same time enjoying the knowledge that others are
close by. We’ve also taken safety precautions throughout our special
floor to reduce your family member’s risk of injury.
Our staff is dedicated to promoting the health and well being of
each resident - in mind, body, and spirit. Your family member
receives an ideal combination of expert care and personal dedication
– from proper medication distribution to liaison services between
the resident, physician, and family. We provide the
around-the-clock availability of care you want your loved one to
have but have found that you can no longer provide.
We encourage our residents to do what they
can do, rather than focus on what they cannot
do. They are encouraged to make choices about how they live
and interact, including choices related to meals, activities, and
their individual apartments. The Terrace residents may also
benefit from a rediscovery of social skills, decreased periods of
agitation, and improved sleep patterns and appetite. They will
participate in a full schedule of quality programs and recreation –
just as they would have if they were living in their own
home.
We look forward to speaking with
you – and hope to serve you at The Plaza.
