You’re invited to experience an immersive Sound Garden pop-up

On Saturday, May 6, the Museum of Craft and Design presents a Sound Garden pop-up experience in the Minnesota Grove green space, just a short walk away from MCD in San Francisco.

Dive into this durational experience and discover the beauty beneath the surface! A Sound Garden is an immersive outdoor sound installation of up to 70 wireless speakers, each playing a different part of a piece of music spread across 2-5 acres over several hours. The piece at Minnesota Grove will be comprised of 30+ speakers and cover the entire block-long park space.

Designed and directed by Minnesota-based composer JG Everest, this self-guided, drop-in experience uses layers of live performance and spatial sound design to activate overlooked parts of our minds and the natural spaces in our communities.

Visitors are welcome to experience the Sound Garden for free, or may pay regular museum admission ($10 adults | $8 students/seniors | kids 12 and under free) to also participate in MakeArt Family Day activities at the museum, and to receive a Sound Garden MakeArt Kit with reflection prompts, a journal, and colored pencils to enhance your creative memory making in the grove!

Use code GROVE for $2 off any ticket.
