Rhoda Goldman Plaza Residents

Unsurpassed. For Good Reason.

We can easily extoll the virtues of our uniquely remarkable community. However, hearing from the people who live at Rhoda Goldman Plaza and their adult children speaks with greater volume. For example:

“I Feel The Welcoming And Comfort Of What I Have Come To Regard as “My Family.”   My mother has lived at Rhoda Goldman Plaza for 20 years, making her the longest-residing resident. It is her home and her community. She will turn 101 this year. I have never had to worry about her health or well being with the wide variety of programming available – art, lectures, outings and more. I visit her a few times a week and, as the years have passed, have come to regard RGP as part of my own community. I’ve made friends with both residents and staff. When I walk through the doors of the community, I feel the welcoming and comfort of what I have come to regard as “my family.”

Yes, our residents and families live in and visit our ideal address featuring a super high 95 walk score that places our community right in the “walker’s paradise” zone. Yes, you’ll appreciate the core of nearby healthcare services in what we fondly call “medical heaven.” And yes again, you’ll love those bits of “lifestyle” choices ranging from a restaurant, café and room service, to entertainment and shopping in the landmark Fillmore district. Even Japan Town is close by. The Lower Pacific Heights location of Rhoda Goldman Plaza location is also easily accessible to the Symphony, Ballet and the Opera.

So What Makes Us Your First and Best Choice?

While we know our enviable address and location is important to those considering our community, there’s always more to the Rhoda Goldman story. Certainly, we have an unparalleled number of staff to residents with all licensed caregiving and nursing staff (and an industry-leading staff tenure with very low turnover), and we will always point out our art, culture, and life-long learning curriculum advantages. Of course, food is always at the top of anyone’s list. Our made-from-scratch menu offerings showcase the culinary skills of our staff and chef (who has been with us since we opened in 2000) daily menu choices, favorites and healthy, nutritious farm-to-table goodness (Yes we also feature a Kosher menu.) So, between our lower Pacific Heights location, dedicated staff, amazing food, and our rich programming, what else can we tell you as a proper introduction to the city’s jewel of Assisted Living and Memory Caring community?

Well, Maybe It’s Best To Hear From Some of Our Residents.

One of the more important questions is to ask about the organization itself. Its history, vision, management, and/or board of directors—take the time to see just how well the community measures up with healthcare professionals and services; find out what they think about the community you are considering. Chances are pretty good they have an opinion based upon professional interchange and history with the community, the management, and staff.

“Very Soothing For The Soul.”

My wife, who is 93 with Parkinson’s disease, lives at Rhoda Goldman Plaza. She is well taken care of by a professional staff that in my opinion are very caring, can I say loving. I cannot say enough good things about the staff and every time I visit my wife, I want to hug them and say thanks. It is very comforting to know that this well-run community is taking care of my wife in the best possible manner. It is a very difficult situation; being married for forty-eight years and now living apart, but it is very reassuring to know that my wife is living a mere 10 to 15 minutes away from where I live. It is very soothing for the soul.

“How Much I Love Living At Rhoda Goldman Plaza.”

“I’ve been inspired to write you (our Executive Director) too many times to count to tell you how much I love living at Rhoda Goldman Plaza. The three sine-qua-non features that make me love living here are activities such as outings, live Sunday concerts and exercise classes, my very special native plant garden on the third-floor patio, and “the help” – from administration, to the front desk, maintenance and health services. I’ve also enjoyed getting to know fellow residents who are so compatible and so much fun – for walking, playing Scrabble, chatting or interviewing for my columns in the Olive Press. And then there’s the food. I love the variety and quality of our meals, though my self-discipline suffers defeat too often when I spar with those lovely homemade desserts. Thank you for making my home such a happy place for me to live.”
